Djo Tunda Wa Munga is a Congolese film director and producer. After studies at the INSAS in Brussels, he went on to work for the BBC and ARTE as a producer. In 2011, he won the award for Best Director at the African Movie Academy Awards and the MTV Movie Awards (Best African Movie) for his first film : VIVA RIVA !
This thriller produced by Boucan Films told the story of Riva, a charming seller of black-market gasoline who falls in love with the girlfriend of a Kinshasa crime boss.
Released in 35 countries including America, it was the first Congolese film produced since Mobutu Sese Seko shut the industry down 25 years before.
